One day back in October while shopping through the mall, I found THE most adorable holiday hair band; because you know that’s when Christmas starts in retail. Instantly, ideas started rushing through my mind of hair and makeup for a holiday beauty shoot. So, we found our model — the lovely Emma Elliott — and got everything all squared away!
Pink of every shade has been huge this year with makeup and I wanted to stay in that realm. The
Too Faced Dream Queen Holiday Set was perfect for this! It has a wide variety of not just pink shades but others as well. This holiday set also includes their 3-1 Hangover Spray, Better Than Sex Mascara, a pretty, soft pink lip gloss all in an adorable swan bag. For this shoot, Emma’s gorgeous porcelain skin was fantastic! In the Dream Queen palette, we used the shades
Here For The Ho’s,
Holy Grail,
Kiss Miss and
Polar Bear Hug. This allowed me to create a beautiful mauve to pink smokey eye. To add a touch more shine and shimmer,
Stila’s “Kitten” Liquid Eye Shadow fit in perfectly. Then I topped her eyes off with
Tarte’s Sex Kitten Eyeliner,
Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, and
Ardell Demi Wispies. On the rest of Emma’s face, I used
BareMinerals barePRO Liquid Foundation and
barePRO Concealer in Fair 01,
Ready Pressed Powder Blush in "The Aphrodisiac", and finished with the
Mineral Veil.
For various occasions, it’s always nice to have options right? Emma’s first outfit and headband came from
Altar’d State. They frequently have a wide array of dresses to fit whatever occasion you need them for. Emma’s second outfit, the bright black and gold sequin shirt came from one of our local upscale resale shops,
The Review Shoppe. To go along with the perfect party attire, you need the right hairstyle! For the first style, we flat iron curled using the
Sexy Hair Smooth Lock Pro Flat Iron along with their
Hot Sexy Control Me iron protectant spray that has a great medium hold. Then we did a series of twists and pinning with a simple Dutch braid using the
Style Sexy Shaping Creme. To finish, we placed the headband gently around and secured it all with a few bobby pins and the
Vibrant Sexy Colorlock Hairspray. For her second look, the left side was a dragon braid connecting over to a couple of twists and secured in place with bobby pins with a final touch of more Colorlock Hairspray.
While it was quite the cold day, it didn’t stop our girl from smiling and toughing it out for a few outdoor snaps over at a new special occasion venue called
Grey Rocks in Springfield, Missouri. They are in the same company as 319 Event Center. This spacious, pretty, new venue is located on Trafficway with a nice patio area, and a couple of great indoor spaces with neat lighting and beautiful exposed brick walls.
Lander’s Theatre was also gracious enough to allow us to take some pictures inside their building alongside the Christmas tree, and inside the theatre space.
